We’ve already seen one example of Virgil Abloh’s recent collaborative efforts with Nike at Paris Fashion Week, a concept shoe featuring a spiked outsole. The track-and-field sensibility that informs the new sneaker is also a dominant motif running throughout the collection at large — Off-White’s Spring/Summer 2019 range, presented on the runway via track athletes including Dina Asher Smith, Vashti Cunningham, Cecilia Yeung, English Gardner, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Nafi Thaim, Caterine Ibarguen and Rénelle Lamote.

“Sport, like fashion, shares a common language that seeks to unite cultures, break down barriers and celebrate the power of the human spirit,” says Abloh. “This season, I was inspired by the voice of the athlete and the power of sport to impact positive and transformative change globally.”
