SONY & MARVEL STUDIOS READYING A ‘SILVER SABLE & THE BLACK CAT’ FILM

Two weeks ago, Sony and Marvel confirmed their Venom solo film would hit theaters on October 5, 2018. As both companies look for director, fans aggressively pursued information whether or not the beloved villain would be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts clarified that the Venom film was not connected to the Marvel world or Spider-Man. In a conversation with Fandango, he went to say “It’s not. It’s not connected to the Marvel world, so that’s really intriguing… what that will be. It’s not connected, so there’s not that overlap. I’m only focused on my movie right now.”

So, with Mr. Watts confirming that Venom will have no connection to Spider-Man, Sony is planning to upstart a new franchise and possible similar universe stand-off universe to Deadpool. Let us know in the comments how you feel about the Venom story being a complete solo presentation.
