Instagram Adds Live Video Broadcast Feature

Does Instagram want to be Snapchat? Do they want to be Periscope? They want to be all of it. After adding their “Stories” feature and taking game from Snapchat not too long ago, they’re now taking a page out of Periscope or any live video apps with their newest update.

Users in the United States will be able to see live broadcasts on top of their timelines (right next to the stories). Once the streams are stopped by the users, they disappear. People watching will be able to comment and “like” the broadcasts, which look something similar to Facebook Live as we’ve seen in commercials.

We actually caught a few broadcasts, but you literally have to catch them as they’re on or you won’t be able to see them later on. Maybe at a later time, that will be an option.
