Air Jordan 7 “Nothing But Net”

Release Date: November 14, 2015
Price: $190
Style Code: 304775-142

Known previously as “Sweater”, the Air Jordan 7 “Nothing But Net” pays homage to a pair of famous Michael Jordan moments during the early 1990s. Jordan wore a shirt and matching shorts with the pattern that is found on the shoe’s overlay during a solo trek around Barcelona during the 1992 Olympics and once again for a Super Bowl McDonald’s commercial with Larry Bird a year later. The pattern’s colors can be found all throughout the shoe alongside with the white upper and black tongue.

Author’s Take

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: This is a deep cut in the Michael Jordan lore and I love it. It’s not out of the realm of  possibility for me to cop this on day 1 but I can also see this sitting in stores for a few weeks as sneakerheads pass it over in favor of other bigger releases that are dropping in November like the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” that’s coming on Black Friday.

Kevin Durant Drops 22 Points in Big Return to Oklahoma City

In what may possibly the NBA game of the week, the San Antonio Spurs came into Oklahoma City to take on the healthy Thunder to start their season. OKC has been regarded as one of the top team out of the Western Conference the past few years, but with the injury bug biting them left and right and striking the likes of Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant, it’s been hard for them to regain championship form and make a run to the NBA Finals.

But all that is in the past as they go into another NBA season, with the team fully stacked and healthy to take the throne. After the game, Westbrook said it was a blessing to have Durant out on the floor, as the Thunder squeezed by the Spurs in a 112-106 thriller.

Durantula looked refreshed and ready to beast, finishing the game with 22 points and 6 rebounds on the night, while mighty Russ led all scorers with 33 points and 10 assists.

On the other side of the ball, LaMarcus Aldridge made his debut for San Antonio and managed to get 11 points, but it wasKawhi Leonard who carried the team with a career-high 32 points on the night.

These two teams will definitely be battling it out for the top spots in the West this season, so it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out as the months continue. So far the Thunder are 1-0, but it might be a different story come playoff time.

@DJKhaled Thinks the Miami Heat Are 2015 NBA Title Contenders

Although the Miami Heat have stepped their game up since LeBron Jamesleft South Beach, the consensus going into the season is that the Cleveland Cavaliers are the lock in the Eastern Conference to make the NBA Finals once again.

DJ Khaled is a Heat fan and he’s so blindingly confident that they have a championship team, that he was willing to bet Complex an undisclosed price and put his money where his mouth is. His argument is the fact that Miami won rings without King James, so he has no doubt they can do it without him again, and it’s happening this season. He didn’t even hesitate when asked if the Heat had a championship caliber team. The thing is, he’s in the minority.

It’s safe to say the Heat have been cursed by DJ Khaled once again

The Macklemore Air Jordan 12 “Wings” Makes The Greatest Ever Even Better

*UPDATE: According to Jordan Brand, these are not an actual collaboration or PE for Macklemore. Now I want to believe this is a sample for a retail pair that’s going to drop in the future. Don’t stop believing…*

Here’s a spoiler alert (or one really long Author’s Take depending on how you look at it): the Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs” is the greatest Air Jordan ever made. It’s not an unpopular opinion, but it’s certainly not a completely audacious one either. The 12 is one of the most recognizable Air Jordan models, the OG colorways are highly regarded and were part of some of Michael Jordan’s last great moments in the NBA (first triple-double in an All-Star Game, Finals Game 1 buzzer beater, the famous Flu Game). I just happen to think that the “Playoffs” colorway is head and shoulders above everything else and is the G.O.A.T. of Js.

So how do you go about making the best (in my opinion) even better? By adding some gold accents on it of course. And that’s what happened with this upgraded Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs”. Designed to be a Macklemore PE, it’s the same black and white colorway of awesomeness that the “Playoffs” has always been but this time it gets gold eyelets and a gold “Wings” swap for the grey “Jumpman” tab. Sure, it might be a turnoff if you’re not a Macklemore fan, but think of it this way; if this pair ever does make it to retail, you can play it off (pun not intended) and say the “Wings” are in reference to the iconic MJ poster of the same name.

As for a retail release, there is no info on that at the moment, but we can hope. Well, I can because between this and news of the “Flu Game” 12s getting an actual release date for next year, this has been a pretty good day for me and retros.

Fragment Design x Air Jordan 1 Low Custom By @jwdanklefs

Just like Jake Danklefs says himself, the surprise isn’t really in the custom itself but rather in the time that it took to become a reality. The famed customizer who has created customs kicks for the likes of LeBron James recently revealed a pair of Fragment Design x Air Jordan 1 Low customs on his Instagram account. The results are pretty spot-on and naturally features Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design double lightning bolt logo embossed on the heel. Really, the only thing that is probably going to be a turnoff for most people is the fact that it’s an Air Jordan 1 Low.
