Drama shares the drama from last night at the BET Hip Hop Awards tapings in Atlanta. It’s gonna be a hot winter.
There were two main altercations that took place sometime during (but not on stage at) the BET Hip Hop Awards, which was taped this weekend in Atlanta. The first involved a scuffle between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, which led to some pushing and shoving and eventually a shot being fired. There, no one was hurt and only the shooter was arrested. A completely different incident, however, involved, oddly enough, MMG rapper Gunplay and members of G-Unit (???).
There’s not too many details of the incident or how it started, but as you can see in the tweet above, G-Unit rapper Kidd Kidd admitted in some sense to being involved in the altercation. According to eyewitnesses, Gunplay was jumped by the G-Unit member and a group of others, eventually fought back, and ended up being the only one that got arrested. Yes, it’s confusing. Check out some cell phone footage below (via RealTalkNY) that will at least attempt to straighten things out.
We know 50 Cent was at the award show taping, but as far as I know, there’s no reason to him, or anybody in the G-Unit camp, to have a problem with Gunplay specifically. 50 has had problems with Ross in the past, but he doesn’t seem to really let that bother him anymore. Ironically enough, 50 shared the stage and shook hands with another former rival, Fat Joe, on stage at the BET Awards, as part of the Chris Lighty tribute. I guess we’ll have to wait for more details. Here’s what MTV reported about the altercation:
“Multiple sources who witnessed the fray confirmed to MTV News that Ross’ protégé Gunplay was also involved in fisticuffs with members of 50 Cent’s G-Unit camp. Gun was seen with visible wounds and a witness told us that the Miami MC was put into handcuffs and detained, but a separate source close to Gunplay told us that he was not arrested.”
On day two of H.O.’s run at the Barclay’s Center, Memphis Bleek repped for his hometown. After reciting “You, Me, Him, & Her”, they performed “Do My”. Ladies been running this muthafucka 11 years strong.
